Last year, many El Cerritans noticed holiday lights along San Pablo Avenue in our Theater District and at the Plaza. That seemed to make many residents happy.
Growing up here, my family and I always enjoyed the lights and decorations at the Plaza when we shopped. But after many years without them, I started asking why – to the city staff, the Plaza and the El Cerrito Chamber of Commerce. (see my previous post) Working together and at little cost to the city, they all agreed to make it happen! Getting past the Covid crisis, encouraging a healthy renewal of our business district will be increasingly important. And it just helps make our city a better more enjoyable place to live.
